Avoid chocolates caffeine to control acne

Acne is a skin condition - I am sure practically all of you have suffered from at one time or the other in your lives. Though I have tried many creams to help cure acne, I have noticed that your daily diet and nutrition intake greatly affects your acne management.

1. Like for all health problems in life, water is a very important part of your acne nutritional problem. In fact distilled water is a better choice. Drink at least 6-8 ounce glasses of pure water. I wouldn’t suggest any major changes in the diet for acne; however it does seem to be beneficial if you avoid high-fat, fried foods and salty foods as these foods tend to aggravate acne.




2. You could try avoiding dairy products for a month as some people develop allergic reactions to dairy products. It is the fat content of the dairy product that can worsen acne. When re-introducing dairy products into your diet, remember to introduce only one product to your diet at a time. This way you will be able to find out what triggers your acne.

3. Eating more of fruits and vegetables is not only good for your acne, but also for your general health and well being. However do cut down on chocolate, caffeine, alcohol, sugar and wheat intake as these food stuffs can increase acne.




4. Though there are no tablets to prevent acne, some studies show that zinc supplements help reduce the severity of acne. In fact, zinc supplements are considered to be as effective as an oral antibiotic therapy. However don’t expect overnight results; you can notice differences only after taking 30mg of zinc twice or thrice a day for a few months, and then cutting it down to 30 mg per day henceforth for twelve weeks.
